Bollinger Motors indefinitely postponed the B1 SUV and B2 pickup earlier this year, but work continues on their upcoming commercial vehicles.
That’s clear today as the would-be automaker has tapped Roush Industries as a contract manufacturer. As a result, “Bollinger will source and provide all materials for Roush to assemble its all-electric vehicle platforms and chassis cabs in a fully staffed, operational, and scalable facility in Livonia, Michigan.”
There’s no word on when production will begin, but Roush will build Class 3 through Class 6 vehicles for Bollinger. The companies will also work closely together on pre-production units and validation testing.

In a statement, founder and CEO Robert Bollinger said “We will be building state-of-the-art vehicles from day one right here in Michigan.” He added, “Roush has significant engineering and assembly history, and we’re excited to work with them to provide our commercial fleet customers with exceptional electric vehicles.”
Bollinger COO Bryan Chambers expanded on those comments by saying, “Roush’s knowledge base and track record in working with both startups and established OEMs was a big part of our decision.” He went on to say the partnership with Roush gives them the confidence to hit their quality and production targets.
While not as interesting as the B1 and B2, Bollinger’s commercial vehicles promise to be “durable, dependable, electric work beasts.” They’ll be offered with multiple wheelbases and battery pack configurations as well as modern driver assistance systems such as adaptive cruise control, lane centering, and automatic emergency braking.
